About this venue
The Road is a volunteer-built, Bible-inspired escape room center run by CJV-Gouda in their LuMina building at Omlooppad. What began in 2019 as a summer pop-up (together with Stichting Israël en de Bijbel) now operates as a permanent center with two 90-minute rooms: The Temple of Salomo centered on Solomon's temple and Paul's Travels, a time-traveling journey along the apostle Paul's travels. The puzzles are low-tech and text-driven—riddles you only crack by actually reading the source stories—and groups of up to 12 play both rooms in turn while those waiting play pool or darts at the youth club. Visitors call it educational and original, worth the effort for both Christian and non-Christian players; The Temple of Salomo scores 8.0 on Escapetalk, notably high for a volunteer project. Do account for limited opening times and a somewhat old-fashioned booking process (form plus WhatsApp confirmation).
