Search & Escape opened in November 2017 as Leiderdorp's first escape room, on the De Baanderij business park. In the single room, The Ghost Ship, you were kidnapped to the ghost ship of the feared Captain Redbeard and had sixty minutes to escape before the ship sailed — a pirate theme with high difficulty level for 2 to 7 players. The room owed its exceptional scores (9.2 on EscapeRoomsNederland, 100% recommendations on Facebook) mainly to owner Walter, who personally received every group with free drinks, extensive briefing and a finish photo. Players praised the creative, parallel-structured puzzles and the story; later reviewers did note that the production with lighting and sound from 2017 became dated. Around 2024/2025 the venue quietly closed — the website is down and booking sites report 'closed'.
