Red Carpet Escape

Leiden Closed 1 room

About this venue

Red Carpet Escape was a pop-up escape room in the basement of the former ABN AMRO bank building on the Stationsweg in Leiden, opened in October 2018 as a collaboration between Bioscopen Leiden and Pop-up Escape from Delft. Players formed a heist team of specialists โ€” hackers, con artists, drivers โ€” that had to break into a heavily guarded museum vault, played in the actual old bank vault. With space for 4 to 20 players simultaneously, it was an unusually large-scale, cinematically set up room, popular for corporate outings thanks to the Red Carpet Lounge in the same building. Reviews are sparse: the authentic vault and cinematic setting were praised, but enthusiasts found the puzzles too easy and the decor outside the vault visibly temporary. As a pop-up in a building awaiting redevelopment, the run simply ended โ€” the room is permanently closed.
