About this venue
Hoeve Bouwlust is a working farm in Maasland where escape adventures are part of a hospitable day out with coffee, drinks and a terrace. The family room De Bonte Beestenboel lets families (age 7+) search for Mrs. Tok's eggs in the real hay barn, guided by a 'farmer' who tailors hints to age — failure is deliberately not possible here. The flagship was for years the Escape Bus, a real old city bus that thanks to movement, light and sound was so convincing it 'drove away' that players swore it actually moved; it scored an 8.5 on escaperoomsnederland but stopped in April 2024. Visitors praised the wobbly departure illusion and the warm welcome, though connoisseurs found the puzzle density in the narrow corridor on the thin side. Those booking now come for the Beestenboel and the farm atmosphere.
