About this venue
Escaperoom City in Poortugaal (just south of Rotterdam) is one of the larger escape room centers in the region: four rooms plus a VR zombie shooter, with space for around 35 players at once — ideal for group outings. The big trump card is the collaboration with master illusionist Christian Farla, who co-designs the rooms and even helps build the electronics: expect theatrical effects, misdirection and revelations that seem impossible. The themes range from the 1929 magician's house House of Houdini (with authentic film props) to the gothic Dracula's Tombe, an Egyptian mummy tomb and a cursed pirate ship. Visitors give it remarkably high ratings (9.1 based on 73 reviews) and consistently praise the decoration — which already begins in the themed reception areas — and the warm, enthusiastic reception; only seasoned players occasionally stumble upon a puzzle transition that doesn't quite make logical sense.
