About this venue
Aboard the preserved steamship ss Rotterdam (1959, now WestCord hotel on Katendrecht), these escape rooms take place in the real refrigeration cells deep in the ship — the location itself is the decor. In Deep Sea Deception (two identical rooms, rebuilt in 2023 from the older 'Koelcel') the steel door clicks shut behind you and you must thwart the dark plans of Captain Manus Goudkamp from the '90s; The Metro lets you race from a surprisingly realistic metro train to catch the ship. Visitors enjoy the enthusiastic reception and walking around the ship; The Metro is clearly the highest-rated for its set realism. Criticism focuses on Koelcel/Deep Sea Deception: many old-fashioned combination locks, sometimes unclear puzzle logic and too little to do for groups of five or six.
