About this venue
The escape room wing of the large leisure complex Dekker Zoetermeer (tennis, padel, bowling, restaurants), opened in 2017 under the Escape World franchise flag. There were three rooms: a Harry Potter-like wizarding school, the cursed ghost ship of The Flying Dutchman, and the dark Cabin in the Woods, which was built as a double room so two teams could compete against each other. The rooms scored moderately (6.4 on escapetalk): the décor and friendly staff were praised, but many players found the puzzles too easy and the rooms felt like franchise products. As of mid-2026, the escape rooms no longer appear on the official Dekker Zoetermeer website; they seem to have quietly closed, while the complex itself remains open.
