Code Blauw is not a commercial escape room but an educational mini-room of 20 minutes on the roof of innovation center PLNT in Leiden, built by Escape-Event in collaboration with the Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland. An unexpected cloudburst threatens Leiden and you enter the darkened control room of the water managers with a maximum of five players: six large screens spout live information about water levels and the approaching storm, and by solving puzzles you activate real pumps to save Rijnland. The room is free for students (others pay a small contribution) and availability is linked to PLNT's programming. Player reviews are virtually non-existent โ attention comes from press and water board circles โ so expect an educational 'mission control' sprint about water awareness, not an immersive room for enthusiasts.
