The X-Cube at DOCK Family Entertainment Center in Vlissingen is not a classic escape room but a high-tech digital cube of 4x4 meters, in the middle of an indoor jump park's floor. One physical space runs an entire menu of games β from Spy Training for children to 60-minute thrillers like Murder at the Mansion and The Traitors β with a large touchscreen, blacklight and light and sound effects instead of a game master. The franchise concept (identical cubes are in PathΓ© cinemas) scores high on production value and variety, with difficulty and play duration adjustable per booking. Visitors praise the polish and accessibility, but no one raves about the atmosphere: it remains a video game you stand in. The Vlissingen location itself has too few reviews for its own score.
