Uutveugele (started August 2024) is not a room but an outdoor escape route: 'De Strijd om Oostkapelle' takes you through about three hours over approximately 5 kilometres through the woods and dunes of the Manteling van Walcheren, back to World War II. It's a cross between an escape room, geocaching and a treasure hunt: your team (4-6 people, from age 14) receives two rucksacks full of puzzle material and finds cached assignments along the way at places where the war actually happened. Smart detail: only one team member is allowed to carry a phone with internet, purely for navigation. The first TripAdvisor reviews are very positive about the route layout, the challenging but achievable assignments and the fact that you learn real WWII history of Oostkapelle — but the offering is too new for a score on the major review sites.
