The VR Room Utrecht was located on Tractieweg in the Werkspoorkwartier (near Utrecht Zuilen station) and offered nine licensed VR escape rooms of sixty minutes, from the uninhabited island Survival to horror title House of Fear and the family-friendly Jungle Quest. You played with a headset and controller as avatars next to each other; staff helped with setup and provided hints as needed, and after finishing you could chat in Het Werkspoorcafé next door. These were ready-made titles from the ARVI catalog — the wow-factor was in the medium itself, not in an original story. Reviews were mixed-positive: the guidance was praised and it was popular for children's parties, but some visitors found the limited movement space immersion-breaking and the price (around 70 euros for two people per hour) on the steep side. The Utrecht location has since closed: The VR Room now lists only Amersfoort, Ede, and Nieuwegein on its location page, and the old Utrecht booking link redirects to the homepage.
