Mama Bazooka (formerly Escape Room Nederland) in Bunschoten is the international heavyweight of the Netherlands: THE DOME was named best escape room in the world by TERPECA in both 2019 and 2020. The company opened in 2013 with De Laboratoriumkamer, billed as the very first escape room of the Benelux, and later added the notorious psychological horror room De Meisjeskamer. The rooms run on highly advanced, seamlessly hidden technology: every solution triggers an event in the space rather than simply opening a lock. Visitors are lyrical — the venue ranks number 1 in Bunschoten on TripAdvisor with almost exclusively five-star reviews, and international enthusiasts travel there especially for it. Criticisms are the premium prices and the fact that the oldest Laboratoriumkamer now feels dated next to The Dome.
