About this venue
Escapium in Utrecht-Overvecht (Nevadadreef) was until mid-2023 the place for horror lovers in the region: flagship Abandoned — an abandoned house where you reconstruct what happened to three missing backpackers — scored an elite 9.0 on escapetalk and was regularly named one of the Netherlands' best horror rooms. Second room The Dam, a lighter puzzle game around a malfunctioning water dam, clearly fell short with a 7.5 ('as cool as Abandoned is, The Dam is correspondingly disappointing'). On 1 June 2023, the venue closed due to rising rents, not product failure; on the escapetalk forum, enthusiasts said an extensive farewell. Abandoned has been sold and meanwhile reopened under the same name Escapium in Amsterdam.
