Boerderij De Boterbloem is a petting farm and recreation business on the Utrecht Heuvelrug near Amerongen, where the escape rooms are one of many activities alongside play barn, farm golf, camping and B&B. There are two deliberately small-scale, family-oriented rooms: Grootmoeders Geheim (Grandma has disappeared and only a mysterious note sits on the table) and De Slapende Boer (Farmer Leo has fallen asleep and the cows must be milked within the hour). The puzzles are low-threshold and mainly aimed at children up to about twelve years old with an accompanying adult. Within the escape room community, the location is virtually invisible: escapetalk has only one review (7.0), which calls the decoration neat and nicely set up but warns not to expect big spectacles. Fine for a family outing on the farm; too modest for seasoned players.
