Escaperoom Het Meulemans sits in the former calf shed of working dairy farmer Wim Jalink and Marieke van Lenthe's farm on Slennebroekerweg between Dalfsen and Heino (opened December 2022). In the game 'Een jaar lang boer' you experience the four seasons of farm life — from the birth of a calf in spring to the corn harvest and winter stores — and earn 3 liters of milk per solved puzzle instead of simply escaping; above 100 liters you're among the top performers. The farmer and his wife adjust the difficulty live based on the group, there's something to drink beforehand and afterwards you can often still visit the cows. Regional media and agritourism platforms report enthusiastic reactions from young and old, but on escape enthusiast circuits (escapetalk, TripAdvisor) the room is invisible; booking only possible via WhatsApp and summer weekends sometimes close because farm work takes priority.
