About this venue

De Poppendokter is a small one-room escape room that relocated from Meppel to Genemuiden at the end of 2025, where it now runs together with Het Jachthuis under the same operator. You step into the workshop of doll doctor Douwe, who has only had his dolls for company since his shop closed — and you need to stay out of his hands. The atmosphere is eerie but not really scary: an old-fashioned craft doll workshop full of staring dolls. Reviews from the Meppel period (6.6 on Escapetalk) praise the varied puzzles and warm welcome, but complain about unsolicited hints via the speakers and visible tech; there are barely any reviews yet of the new setup in Genemuiden.
