Xitroom Escape Game

Amsterdam β˜… 8,1 (escaperoomsnederland 8.1 / TA ~4.5) 2 rooms

About this venue

Xitroom Amsterdam is in the basement of an old canal mansion on the Prins Hendrikkade, 500 meters from Central Station, and is the sister location of Xitroom Eindhoven β€” supposedly the first escape room in the Netherlands (since 2013). You play here first-generation escape design: five physical rooms in two themes, with three identical copies of The Professor (the office of an eccentric professor full of hidden secrets) and two of Crack the Safe, where you must crack the safe holding Madam X's 69-carat diamond. The defining philosophy is: hints are basically never given β€” you play at your own pace β€” and thanks to the duplicate rooms you can race large groups team-against-team. Visitors praise the friendly staff, varied puzzles and location; it's a solid first escape room. Experienced players find the dΓ©cor and story dated, while some beginner groups struggle without hints.
