Mystery City Games

Amsterdam โ˜… 9,8 (TA 4.9) 3 rooms

About this venue

Mystery City Games is not a room but an outdoor treasure hunt escape room through Amsterdam: you pick up a backpack from the game master (Zwanenburgwal) with treasure maps, locks, boxes and period props โ€” no app, everything physical. The three games are always anchored to a real mystery from the city's history: the occult society of the Golden Age (A Secret Sender), the diamonds lost during the war (Operation 45) and a true-crime case from 1988 on the Wallen (Last Night in the Red Light). Each location opens the next lock on the treasure chest, with the revelation as a tangible endpoint. Visitors are enthusiastic โ€” around 4.9 on Tripadvisor, 'Da Vinci Code in two hours' โ€” and appreciate that you learn about the city and its history while playing. Some critical players find some puzzles too easy for the price.
