About this venue
Fort K is an escape room in the over-century-old Fort de Kwakel, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Stelling van Amsterdam, and is operated by Turf Aalsmeer. The game starts remarkably: there is no counter or reception area — you start outside and puzzle your way into the fort, then unlock five tubes of precious water from the mysterious society 'Activae Aqua Alsmare'. Along the way you learn real history about the fort and the Stelling van Amsterdam through play. Visitors praise the unique location and original outdoor start, but expect solid puzzles in a distinctive setting rather than high-tech spectacle: the monument status creates visible cables and rough finishes. There is also a kids variant (Fort Kids) and on selected dates a horror version with an actor.
