Du Monde is a high-end escape room location in the Oude Dorp of Amstelveen (Dorpsstraat 104), connected to a restaurant of the same name run by the same owners — playing and then dining can happen in one evening. There are three rooms: Maffia Bar, a dark 1920s gangster bar in black-white-gray where you pull off a heist under the watchful eye of a silent bartender-actor; Sauna of Sin, a horror room in a dilapidated sauna where a murderer roams who can end your game; and 9RichRooms, reportedly the first self-resetting escape room in the Netherlands with nine film set-like micro-rooms. Visitors especially praise the actor experience (the 'eerie' silent bartender) and the thrilling, cinematic atmosphere. Criticism: because of the in-character constraint, the pace sometimes drops and you can't always freely consult, and the finish of the Sauna is somewhat less polished up close.
