About this venue
Blooming escape room is an outdoor game on the dune and forest grounds of the Blooming hotel in Bergen aan Zee — an offshoot of the historic villa hotel. In 'Dr. Carls Cabin' you walk a route of around 35 minutes through the forest, collecting components along the way and solving stations to prove yourself as the successor to Dr. Carl, a 'failed' professor who was working on a sustainable superfuel. There is no game master: a tablet carries the story, checks answers and shows solutions. You are never locked in and there is no hard time pressure ('relaxed play'), which makes it particularly suitable for families and people with claustrophobia. Family blogs praise the beautiful nature and freedom, but the puzzles are fairly simple for adults and the tablet is difficult to read in bright sunlight; there are not yet enough reviews for a rating.
