Onder de Toren is a café in a listed building next to the St. Laurentiuskerk in central Oud Gastel; the escape room in the basement is a side activity the owners built during coronavirus lockdowns from their passion for wine. You are locked in an old wine cellar with a flashback to around 1900, when the space housed prisoners and later stored beer and wine; 'wine is the only way out'. The special touch is hospitality woven into the game: for €75 you get 90 minutes, four drinks and snacks, some of which you must first 'puzzle free'. It is deliberately relaxed rather than rushed. Data is limited (escapetalk 5.0 based on one review): the welcome is described as warm, but the puzzles and story drew criticism ('as random as anything') and the low cellar is not suitable for tall people.
