Escaperoom Oss was at its peak a well-maintained venue with three rooms, of which the horror flagship Dracula's Bedroom was the best known: you let yourself be locked in Count Dracula's bedroom and must escape with reliquaries before he wakes up — one of the toughest rooms in the region, with strong tension building through sound effects. Villa Nuvelstijn is a country-house murder mystery in which you must discover both who was murdered and who did it. Owner Stephan Damen was himself the game master; reviewers praised the enthusiastic, proud host, the lovingly decorated waiting room and the well-maintained equipment ('nothing is worn, the puzzles work fine'). Criticism centred on puzzles that didn't always fit logically with the story and that it was a bit too scary for some. The venue closed in January 2021 due to cashflow and property issues (the landlord wanted to convert the building into apartments), not due to product quality.
