Escape Room Gemert operated from 2015 in Hotel de Hoefpoort at Ridderplein, with check-in through the adjacent restaurant Heeren van Ghemert on the historic castle square. There were two deliberately contrasting rooms: in 'Oud Tantes Testament' you search the deceased aunt's room for the crucial missing will page, and in 'De Wraak van de Farao' you must seal Tutankhamun's sarcophagus in time to stop the curse in a reconstructed tomb chamber. The rooms were known as cleverly designed and quite challenging — the escape rate was around or below 50%. Despite a notably high 8.9/10 and nearly unanimous positive TripAdvisor reviews, the location has since closed, likely because the hotel abandoned the side business.
