Escape Room Baarle was a single-room escape room above brasserie Den Engel, in the heart of the unique enclave village Baarle-Nassau. The room 'Het Douanekantoor' was set in 1937: you stepped into the shoes of smugglers moving tobacco, alcohol, and butter across the quirky Belgian-Dutch border, outsmarting customs — a wonderful, truly local theme. The execution unfortunately didn't match: reviews varied wildly (1 to 10) and complained about inconsistent organization because the room was a side project of the brasserie.
