About this venue
De Voltage on Groenstraat 139 is the Netherlands' largest indoor entertainment centre (35+ activities) and houses eight escape rooms under the name Escape Extraordinary. All rooms share one story universe: the historic Volt factory complex, a real Tilburg lightbulb and picture tube factory, with each room named after a character or location (Mevr. Bierens the lab technician, Directeur Haltsman, Dr. Alfred, De Fanfare, Het Ketelhuis). The rooms last 45 minutes, are in Dutch and divided into four difficulty levels. Visitors on TripAdvisor especially praise the decor and atmosphere, but enthusiastic escape room players on escapetalk are critical: illogical puzzles, lack of personal guidance, poor hint system and sometimes broken props. The theming clearly exceeds the puzzle design; the factory itself is worth the stars.
