About this venue

Escaperoom Stein was a hobbyist escape room with one room, Een Eenzame Wees, housed in the Crea Dance building on Havenstraat. The story takes place in the fictional village of Veenakker: the De Graaf family perished in a fire at their remote country house, only son Christoph survived, and players have an hour to uncover what really happened to him (16+). The room combined classical locks and codes with homemade puzzles featuring electrical components. Visitors praised the helpful hosts and the price for larger groups, but complained that it felt like a 'bare basement' with little thematic decoration and poor sound โ€” the tragic story lived in the intro text, not in the room (6.9 average). The location has since closed; there was no formal announcement, but there has been no activity since around 2019.
