About this venue

Escape Route Thorn is not a classical escape room but a pair of outdoor escape routes through the historic white town of Thorn, run by tour guide bureau RondleidingThorn.NL. Both routes are based on true stories of the canonesses — the noble chapter members of Thorn's secular abbey — making history the mystery, at walking tour rates (€15 p.p.). The Secrets of the Canonesses is a walking route (~2 km, 2-6 players, 15+) in which power, desire, love and money drive 18th-century Thorn; The Rebellious Canoness is a car/bike/scooter route (9+) through Thorn, Wessem, Stevensweert and Ohé en Laak, about the life of the real Josina Walburgis. You receive a backpack with materials and use your own phone with QR scanner; after completion you can read the full true stories at home. The only published review is very positive about how history comes playfully to life, but the number of ratings is too small for a score.
