Escape Room Venlo was Venlo's first escape room, housed in a genuine artist warehouse at Maaskade 35 where artists actually lived and worked. Its trump card was that authenticity plus a character host: the 'warehouse landlord' welcomed you with a drink and a tour of the studio before you were locked in. In Deadline you search for evidence of the innocence of kidnapped artist Evert Dicx within 60 minutes; Kunst & Kitsch expanded on this with a mystery surrounding a strange new resident. Reviews are mixed: fans praise the atmosphere and enthusiastic guidance, while critical players found the puzzles too few and too easy (a strong team sometimes escaped in just half an hour). The escape room has since closed; event agency Nina Bellen still advertises Kunst & Kitsch as a group activity.
