Small, atmospheric escape room with one chamber, originally in Panheel and since 1 December 2019 relocated to Café Sjaen in Neer (municipality Leudal), where it continues as EscapeRoom Leudal. The room The Fate of Marie-Antoinette is set in 1979 in the living and working space of Marie-Antoinette Thissen, a 74-year-old partially sighted photographer who approached the world mainly through her camera; all puzzles revolve around photography and perception, with the motto 'How you look determines what you see'. There is no actor; hints are given on request and the story runs as a strong thread through the entire game. Visitors praise the original theme, authentic photographic materials, warm reception, the homemade intro film, and multiple solution routes; the only real criticism is a couple of generic 'hobby puzzles' (sudoku/tangram) that don't fit the room. On escaperoomsnederland it has a 10/10 (34 reviews), on escapetalk around 8.7.
