Escape room (since March 2016) in the attics of the centuries-old Abdij Rolduc in Kerkrade, where every scenario draws from abbey life — the characters are (fictionalized) abbey figures, and that's the defining strength of this location. There are five rooms, ranging from small rooms for 2-4 players (Claviger Sjra, Zuster Emerentia, De Klokkenmaker) to large group rooms for 8-14 players (De Bruiloft and De Tweeling) where two teams must either cooperate or compete against each other, with a success rate under 30%. There are no actors; hints come via a screen and the puzzles lean heavily on locks and codes (first generation). Visitors particularly praise the unique location and friendly service; criticism centers on dated, lock-heavy puzzle design and the single-space layout of the small rooms (escapetalk 6.5).
