Dr. Watson Room Escape was one of Roermond's first escape rooms (opened March 2015, closed May 1, 2017). Its single room, The Walk Of Fame, centered on the abduction of film actress Lara Reynolds: teams had 60 minutes to figure out where she was being held and rescue her. It was a first-generation room from the padlock-and-search era, with a game master watching from outside. Visitors on escaperoomsnederland were enthusiastic (averaging 9/10 from 14 reviews) about the tension and theme, but that's a small, enthusiast-skewed sample; criticism concerned price tags left on props and a puzzle with an ambiguous solution. The venue has since permanently closed.
