About this venue
De Postwagen in Tolbert (Hoofdstraat 53, building from 1780) housed the escape room Race to Escape for ten years: five identical rooms where groups raced each other in a 60-minute format. The décor evolved from the original Race to Escape (2015) to the Wild West theme 'Het Wilde Noorden' (2017, 1913 Tolbert with a tram-smuggling story) and later 'Het Wilde Vervolg' (2018). The venue drew 50,000+ visitors, mainly as part of group outings with dining and overnight stays. Reviews were mixed: enthusiasts found the rooms too simple with mediocre finishing (aggregate 5.8), while the catering and group logistics were praised. The escape rooms have since closed; the venue now operates as activity hall Posta7.
