Xcape Logix was an escape room a minute's walk from Nijmegen station, with three first-generation rooms (2015). In De van Gogh Code you play art historian W. Brandon who gets to analyze a new painting collection with his assistants, but is locked in by a mysterious conservator; the answer to who he is is hidden in Van Gogh's paintings. There were also the horror rooms Escape from the Dark (deliberately built for 2-3 players, chained in the dark) and the XL version for larger groups. Visitors especially praised the hospitality: free coffee, tea and cookies and enthusiastic owners who extensively chatted before and after. More critical escapetalk reviewers found the game itself dated: 'few technical highlights', repetitive final puzzles and IKEA-like décor under a grand premise. Scores range from 4.2 to 4.6; the Nijmegen location has since closed (the brand relocated to Elst).
