Tot Slot was a small, owner-run escape room in the Hanseatic town of Doesburg, opened in March 2016 by Riekie Neervoort in the former restaurant De Dolle Duivel. The only room was a non-scary 'witch's chamber' in which teams of 2 to 8 people take a journey through time: at the start you receive a suitcase full of objects, and by completing tasks correctly you gradually get closer to the hidden key that opens the door. Reviews were mixed — fun, tight puzzles and a warm welcome from the owner, but also criticism of the lack of a logical story, too many useless loose items and the house rule that you could only get a hint after half an hour (none of the three review teams escaped).
