Escape room Waterproof was the only escape room of the Nederlands Watermuseum, located at the lowest point beneath Sonsbeekpark in Arnhem, in a museum entirely devoted to water. The concept was thematically perfectly placed: during heavy rainfall the water threatens to flood the room and you must crack the codes within 60 minutes to keep your feet dry β the environment, not a clock, was the time pressure. The room opened in May 2018, was marked as 'hard' (16+) with a fixed budget of three hints, and designed the puzzles so everyone in larger teams had something to do. With only a handful of reviews (escapetalk 6.9, atmosphere 6.6) the dΓ©cor fell short of the strong concept, and a 16+ room in a family museum never found a steady following. The room has since quietly closed; the museum itself is still open and no longer mentions the escape room.
