About this venue
Fundustry Nijmegen (operating as Fundustry Viking Adventures at recreation area Groene Heuvels in Ewijk) is a large multi-activity park with paintball, quad biking and a climbing park, where until recently two Viking escape rooms were also housed. Both rooms shared the same legend: in The Forgotten Viking Raid you followed the trail of the missing fleet of Jarl Brynjar to an unknown Maya temple in the jungle, and in The Viking Longhouse you had to prove you were worthy to lead his fleet through map reading and Norse mythology. That an antagonist was shared across two rooms (myth versus proof) was a clever story concept, but the execution received weak reviews: a poorly accessible, hot room, broken items, little atmosphere and an unclear final puzzle. Both escape rooms have now disappeared from the offering — the site no longer mentions Viking rooms at this location, only other activities such as Highland Games and Expedition Robinson — the park itself remains open for these activities.
