EscapeVeessen is a surprisingly ambitious escape room in the Ijssel village of Veesen, built by a farming family in an empty barn. In 'Escape the Wild West' you step into the year 1850 and enter an abandoned western town 'Dusty Creek' — 180 m² with houses, a train station and a church — where the sheriff hands your team a mysterious chest at the outset and you have 90 minutes to unravel the secret of the gold mine. The room is non-linear and exploration-focused, with costume props (hats, bandanas) and a saloon drink afterwards. Visitors are enthusiastic about the enormous scale, the attention to detail, the light and sound design, and the warm hospitality; the puzzles are strictly thematically integrated. The room scores very highly (escaperoomers.de 9.5; escapethereview 9.3; escapetalk 9.5 across ~96 reviews) and made the TERPECA 2025 top-100 list. Minor criticism: for seasoned players the puzzles are on the easy side, and the large space works best with 4-6 players.
Wat een toffe escape room! Het wild west thema is perfect uitgevoerd. De uitdagende puzzels zitten logisch in elkaar maar je moet er samen echt wel even je best voor doen.— Google
