Escape Room De Binnenpoort was located in the historic city center of Culemborg, near the medieval city gate after which the flagship room was named. In 'De Binnenpoort' players traveled 600 years back to the time when Culemborg was still called Kuylenburg (there was also a children's version), while 'Het Moordonderzoek' was a contemporary mafia whodunit around a liquidation at Angelino Mayer's party. Visitors praised the fun story, neat theming and logical puzzle work; on TripAdvisor the place scored 4.5/5, though based on only a handful of reviews. Criticisms were the very small spaces — in practice unsuitable for more than three players — and an excess of number locks. The escape room is now permanently closed.
