In the games and toy shop Sfinx on the Dracht in Heerenveen there was a family escape room for years: Het Geheim van Baron Beltracchi. In the art-loving baron's house, the walls are covered with expensive masterpieces and nobody knows where they come from — players (2-5 people, from age 7) had to discover within an hour how the baron keeps acquiring those top pieces, while being careful not to get caught by him. The name is a wink at the real German master forger Wolfgang Beltracchi. The room was sold mainly through Groupon and Social Deal discounts and thus left barely any reviews: no escapetalk ratings, no TripAdvisor page. The escape room has since closed; it was always a side activity next to the shop.
