About this venue

Kelders Escape was an escape room in the cellar of lakeside restaurant Paviljoen de Kelders at De Leyen in Rottevalle โ€” despite the name, not in the Leeuwarden Cellars. The two rooms were remarkably intertwined with the restaurant itself: in 'Vermiste baby' you searched for missing three-month-old Madelief Kelders, named after the fictional family of the house, and in 'Sollicitatie tot Chef kok' you literally applied for the pavilion's head chef position and had to save yourself 'from a horrible death'. The game ran on classic riddles, codes and keys. Little can be said fairly about the quality: both rooms received zero reviews on escapetalk and the community never described the venue. Around 2020 the escape room quietly disappeared; its own website is offline and the room is closed.
