House of VR on Bonifatiusplein in Leeuwarden is not a classic escape room but a VR arcade with a dedicated zone for around 24 VR escape room titles, alongside multiplayer arenas, VR racing and free-roam games. The offering consists of licensed worlds (ARVI and Ubisoft) such as Chernobyl, House of Fear, Assassin's Creed: The Lost Pyramid and Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time — spectacle that would be impossible in a physical room: swimming, flying, dismantling a nuclear power plant. Sessions last around an hour with 2-6 players per title, at €28-35 per person depending on group size. Visitors are remarkably positive about the friendly staff, clear instructions and impressive immersion ('a completely different way of escaping'); puzzle depth remains shallower than in good physical rooms and the escape room community rarely reviews VR venues.
