De Kroon van Marijn is a small family business in Ferwert combining restaurant, B&B and escape room under one historic roof: parts of the building at Hoofdstraat 16 date from 1501, when it was the inn-brewery 'Het Wapen van Parijs' where beer was brewed and jenever distilled. In the escape room De Verloren Waarheid, resident Marijn recruits you as a time traveler: he discovered a crime from the late 18th century that was covered up, built a time machine, but can't travel himself because meeting his ancestors would be fatal. The special thing is that the building's real history is the game's story — reviewers especially praise the authentic atmosphere, beautiful decoration and warm, personal welcome. The game is family-friendly (from about 7-8 years, 2-4 players), though inexperienced players found it quite challenging.
