Boerderij Recreatie is a family business in a century-old Frisian stilt farmhouse on the Tjeukemeer in Delfstrahuizen, where alongside BBQs and group days two parallel escape games are played. The story: grandmother Afke, who farmed here her whole life with grandfather Klaas, passed away after a long illness and spoke more and more on her deathbed about jewels hidden in the farmhouse — you search for them through the real farmhouse rooms before the sinister new owner Sieberen Storm comes home. Nobody is locked in: it's a 'reversed' escape room where you move from room to room, and large groups start in teams with 15-30 minute intervals as an internal competition. Group outing reviews are glowing about hospitality, organization and food (with Frisian orange cake as a bonus); about the puzzles themselves, enthusiasts are more critical — it's more of a treasure hunt than an escape room.
Dit was echt een super vette escape room! We hadden echt moeite om de puzzels op te lossen— escaperoomsnederland.nl
Helaas waren de 'puzzels' amateuristisch— escaperoomsnederland.nl
