The Waypoint Experience Center is an interactive experience centre under construction above the drop-off point of the charity shop of addiction care organisation Waypoint in Urk; opening is expected in late summer 2026. The planned escape rooms simulate recognizable Urk environments — an alley, a bar and a living room — full of subtle signals of alcohol, drugs, gambling and gaming addiction that players learn to recognize while puzzling. The twist: you escape not just from the room but symbolically also 'from the grip of addiction'. The project prioritizes education (Waypoint is a Christian prevention foundation within the THDV network) and is broadly supported: the auction of the first May catch brought in over 150,000 euros for the centre.
