About this venue
Flevo Escape was a VR escape center from June 2022 on the Josephine Bakerstraat in Almere: six licensed vrCAVE escape rooms (plus VR arcade games and two physical rooms through a partnership with neighbour Sky High) all played in the same play space with wireless headsets. The genre menu ranged from pirate curse (Pirates Plague) and gothic horror (Manor of Escape) to sci-fi, underwater temples and time travel — spectacle impossible in a physical room. The review base is thin, but those who played were enthusiastic: Manor of Escape scored a 9.7 on escapetalk (from only 3 reviews) and visitors were so immersed they sometimes forgot the puzzles. Around late 2025, the venue announced on its own site it would stop ('the VR Escape Room has completed its last mission') and has since referred to One Hour Lockup in Naarden; no reason has ever been published.
