Escaping Almere was in the basement of bar-restaurant FINN on the Koopmanstraat in Almere Centrum: you walked through the bustling restaurant downstairs into the mysteries, right near the station. The venue was part of the Escaping chain and offered two rooms: the spooky hotel story Room 22, where the previous guest disappeared without a trace and only a voice echoes through the room, and bank robbery Let's Rob the Bank! in a real old bank vault. Visitors were pleased with the friendly staff, the varied sub-rooms and the atmospheric entrance, but repeatedly complained about deferred maintenance and puzzles that weren't always logical — Room 22 remained stuck at a 6.6 on escapetalk, though TripAdvisor was milder at around 4.5 stars. The Almere venue quietly disappeared; the chain continues in Antwerp, Breda and Utrecht, where Room 22 lives on.
