Escaperoom Zeewolde

About this venue

Escaperoom Zeewolde was a labor of love hobby project by six friends from Harderwijk, since April 2016 in the coffee and saddle room of Stal Hulkesteijn at the edge of Zeewolde, open only on weekends. The one room, The Illusionist, was a missing-person mystery rather than an escape: the eccentric illusionist Wilhelm Hendrickx disappeared thirty years ago without a trace and in his workshop โ€” where nothing is what it seems โ€” you figure out what happened. Visitors were enthusiastic (9.4/10 on escaperoomsnederland): strong story immersion, varied puzzles full of theatrical misdirection and deliberately vague hints so the team solves it themselves, though inexperienced groups found it challenging. In August 2025 the room closed definitively โ€” the last group literally played with the demolition container already outside the door โ€” and the domain has since been parked with a reseller.
