About this venue
Escape from Urk is not a classic escape room but an outdoor escape trail of about two hours through the old fishing village of Urk, played via an app (from €29.75 per team). The story takes you back to the Great Flood of 1825: you help fisherman Pieter and his family escape the rising water, while you walk through the actual streets and alleys where the disaster took place. The app navigates, provides location-based tasks and hints (which cost points) and maintains a leaderboard; the game is promoted by Tourist Info Urk and created by escapefrom.nl, which also has a sister version on Schokland. Review data is sparse — the game is not on escapetalk or TripAdvisor — but local media (Omroep Flevoland) gave it positive coverage as a nice way to discover Urk and its history.
