The Prison Challenge is not a classic escape room but a fully automated escape-game hybrid in the Urban GRND indoor leisure center in Emmen (also with trampolines, glow golf and laser tag). Teams of two or three move with a digital tag past various prison cells: each cell is its own mission, from reaction games like De Knoppen Krakers to puzzle cells like De Verborgen Puzzels, and a central leaderboard tracks all teams' scores live. The story is a thin prison wrapper; the real game is scoring points in 60 or 90 minutes, with up to around 100 players at once. Works fine for kids' parties and large groups โ children entertain themselves for hours โ but adult visitors often find the cells very simple and repetitive, and there are complaints about broken cells and poor maintenance. Escape room hobbyists don't count it in the genre; it's not listed on escapetalk.
